Why this page
Information about rope in Japan is mostly in Japanese, so I gathered some info to share for the ones who struggle finding what they want. This page focuses on the rope part, for more general info about kink and fetish you can refer to the kinky map (maintained by Deviate on fetlife).
List is in Alphabetic order, places listed here does not mean i like/dislike the place, just that it exists. You to choose.
For historical reasons, most people in the rope/kink/SM community use X to communicate. Some times they have websites. Although info is mainly in Japanese, nowaday i m sure you can have your way around using available automatic translation tools.
All bar and club used to be smoking allowed. Thanks to Olympics? Japan recently changed rules and non-smoking places are increasing (have to go outside or to the smoking area to smoke). Smoking space are quite hard for me and i dont like the smell to stick to my ropes so i ll mention when the space allows smoking so you can chosse accordingly.
The places always welcome foreigners, however if you want to enjoy fully youd rather go with a Japanese speaking person for translation. For rope lessons, you usually need to hire a translator, very few instructors can speak japanese.
About the price
Doing rope and SM is expensive. You have to be aware that usually the entrance fee is based on your gender (male/female) and does not usually mention transgender and non binary people. Some time there is a couple rate.
Cheaper or even free for women, the main reason for that is that average income of women in Japan is way lower than men.
